Unformatted text preview: Samuel Castrejon 373842 8/7/10 The Tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare (1606) Major Characters: Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, King Duncan, Banquo, Malcolm, Macduff, Lady Macduff, Fleance, Ross, Donalbain, The Three Witches, Hecate, Lennox, Ross, and the Murderers. Setting: The tragedy of Macbeth takes place in the 11 th century during the Middle Ages and the locations take place in Scotland and also briefly in England. Major Scenes: The Three witches predict and inform Macbeth, that he will be both the thane of Glamis and the thane of Cawdor. They also tell Macbeth that he is the future King of Scotland. They also predict Banquos future and tell him that his sons will be the future Kings of Scotland (1.3) King Duncan visits Macbeth unannounced and praises him for his effort in battle, and showers him with gifts.
