Catherine Rivas Bus 200 Prof. Michels Intellectual Property case If I was the judge in the case of English teacher (Marry) and the business professor (Larry), I would rule for Marry. Not only because she was the one who came up with the story and worked hard to get the manual script done but because the document (manual script) was copyrighted. When a book, film, poem, artwork, menus, videos, etc. has been copyrighted, means that the author or creator is automatically given the statutory copyright protection for 70+ years.
