Liza Paley I think that there are both positives and negatives to working in the grocery industry. A positive is that it would be interesting to be one who decides which products are sold in the store. Some stores are able to get exclusive products that no other stores are able to get and this can be a big draw to going to that store over another. It would also be a job where you are managing many people at all times because grocery stores require so many different people to be working there at once in order to function. This would be difficult as well because it is hard to dictate other people all of the time. Additionally, I think that the hours for working in the grocery industry would not be the most desirable. Considering that grocery stores are open for so many hours in a day, I would assume that any job relating to the grocery industry would have long hours as well. I’m not sure if I could see myself working in the grocery industry for a number of

Unformatted text preview: reasons. First of all, I think that it is important to find a career that you really look forward to going to every day. You have to be passionate about what youre doing. In the grocery industry, the passion would lie in customer service for the most part but also in food. I think that having a job having to do with food and being a means for people to feed themselves would be very interesting, but I would prefer a job in the restaurant business than in the grocery industry. I see more room for interaction with people in the restaurant business because it is generally a more intimate setting whereas in the grocery industry, I would think that you are primary working with others to sell you your products and then also getting some customer feedback. All in all, I do see this to be a successful industry because people are always going to grocery stores....
