Intro To Voice—Michelle Ciucci 19:26 -Voice: the sound produced by the vocal organs of a vertebrate, especially a human expiration of air through vibrating vocal folds, used in the production of vowels and  voiced consonants -Voice Disorder: abnormal voice quality resulting from anatomic, physiologic, or  psychogenic causes the voice doesn’t meet an individual’s needs, there are voice complaints, pitch and  loudness are not appropriate for the individual’s age and/or gender pitch, loudness, quality unattractive voice -Prevalence of voice disorders good figures do not exist children: prevalence between 5-24% adults: prevalence between 3-15% singers at risk but there are not figures available occupational risks: increased numbers in teachers personality may also put individuals at risk of development of voice problem
