DIGITAL PRINCIPLES – I/O SUPPORT CIRCUIT You must build this circuit exactly the way it is shown and have it completed in order to perform LAB#2. Digital I.C.s require input and output. For simple circuits a function generator, a DMM and Scope are sufficient while for more complex circuits multiple switches, LEDs and debounced push buttons are required. This lab does not have Logic Trainers with these facilities so we have to build our own. The following circuit provides multiple switches for input and multiple LEDs for output and is required in order to perform Lab #2. You must build this circuit and have it completed in order to perform LAB#2. The IC shown is a 74HC563 it is not in your kit and will be supplied to you in the lab. In the mean time you may substitute another 20

The small yellow or black strips are called resistor SIPs (Serial Inline Package) and contain multiple resistors all connected to a common point.The SIP used with the LEDs is for current limiting and is labeled 10X-1-471LF (10 - 470ohm resistors) it will be provided by the instructor since it is not in your kit. The SIP used with the switches is a pull-up resistor to eliminate floating inputs and is a labeled 10A103G (10 10kohm resistors).
