Discussion 3.1: Application of a GrandTheoryThe firs article focuses on Newman’s Grand Theory of health as expandingconsciousness. The author suggested that utilizing Newman’s derived concept of caringpartnership as a nursing intervention will promote a nurse-client connection. This interventionconsists of both the nurses and client, working together to identify patterns in thoughts andbehavior. In this particular case, it referred to how the patient was “closed off.” Working throughthis partnership allowed them to pinpoint where/why this behavior emerged in the client’sparticular situation and how it has been unwittingly affecting her family’s reaction and behaviorto her diagnosis. Consequently, the success of the nurse-client partnership facilitated a betterclient-family connection. Through this connection, the family was able to have a betterunderstanding of the client’s patterns that influenced her behavior, be aware of their actions, as
