Amanda Norwood 02/22/2012 Boys in Ballet Questions for Boys in Ballet Video (Length: 2:56) (Answer here in the assignment page) 1 In your opinion, Should boys be in Ballet? Why or why not? In my opinion I feel boys are needed in ballet. Women ballet dancers need a strong man to support them for certain dances. Men are also a great addition to ballet itself. 2. What is the name of the creator of the scholarship at the Petit Oasis Foundation? Toshiko Honda 3. According to the lady, why are there no boys in Ballet? According to Toshiko, parents do not encourage their boys to be ballet dancers and society does not support it either. 4. Why are some parents reluctant to send their children to ballet according to the person interviewed? Tom Morse, a parent of a boy ballet dancer, says he did not want his son dancing at first. Morse wanted his son to follow the expectations of a boy and have a goal of being a tight end for USC. 5. Any other comments you care to make regarding this video? Over the years ballet has been seen as a feminine activity just as football is seen as masculine. I think it is great that there are boys, especially young boys, having a strong confidence and picking up ballet.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
