2 Selection Pressures on Gamete Size Productivity -- the number of gametes produced per unit time by a given parent Zygote fitness -- a measure of the probability that a zygote will survive to adulthood and reproduce, in the shortest time • All things being equal, the maximum reproductive productivity occurs with the maximum number of gametes possible without reducing nuclear material.
