BADM 204 – 03 Dengyu Wu Assignment 1 Vancity’s mission, vision and goals For the Canadian company’s mission statement, vision statement and goals, I choose Vancity, which is the largest English-speaking credit union in Canada. The vision statement of Vancity is to work with people and communities to help them thrive and prosper. What the vision statement points out is they provide their members with the best in financial products and services. There are several effective elements of this vision statement, it keeps focused and makes good business sense. In addition, it’s feasible and memorable. However, the shortcoming of the vision statement is dwells on the present. The vision statement should be forward-looking and directional. What Vancity should do next is to make sure their direction and set up a long term planning to motivate and inspire their employees and stakeholders.
