The knowledge necessary to understand how the system works is introduced in segments that always relate back to the basic system. Course introduces Boolean logic, combinational circuits, and sequential logic. Course material (notes, assignments, solutions, grades) will be distributed over Blackboard Learning System, which can be reached through Drexel One or directly at http://learning.dcollege.net/ Textbook: Introduction to Logic Design, 3rd Edition, Alan B. Marcovitz, McGraw Hill, 2010. Course Goals To learn the principles of operation of digital circuits. We will study the following topics: Number systems and binary addition Logic components Switching algebra Analysis and design of combinational circuits Latches and Flip-flops Analysis and design of sequential circuits
