It is evident that fairy tales are not simply short stories created for mere entertainment. Fairy tales can hold a deep message deep within the ingenious and legendary words. These magnificent stories are about love, compassion, dedication, and respect. Often fairy tales present moral issues with a lesson to be learned. “Beauty and the Beast” is one of the most popular fairy tales from which moral lessons are acquired. It is a lovely story that teaches that beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. The fairy tale vividly portrays truths about relationships and provides a way of understanding them. There are some that doubt love, as well as those who completely doubt the existence of love all together. Is the term “happily ever after” just a myth? Does true love really exist? What is the nature of love? Fairy tales are able to provide the answers to many philosophical questions. “Beauty and the Beast” is a legendary relationship storyline that proves real love does indeed exist and can take on many different forms. Real love is a profoundly tender, passionate feeling towards another person. In “Beauty and the Beast”, the subject of real love is presented many different times. In the story, Beauty shows her love for her father, as well as Beauty and Beast expressing their intense love for one another.
