REFLECTIVE ESSAY 2 Reflective Essay – Integration and Reflection Some major concepts and knowledge I gained as a result of the Finance 501 course as a result of the extensive studies and teaching was a profound view towards the field of business particularly the financing aspect of the economic. Before the actual course, I viewed financing as a mere process of--similar to accounting practices-- checking and monitoring the expenses and profit of an entity. Initially, I considered financing in the simplest terms (e.g., financing mortgages, obtaining bank loans, and the like). However, I have found that these ideas are only the tip of the ice berg of the entire financing realm. Financing’s significance and function on business is necessary in many aspects of decision making; namely, when we think of terms of corporate mergers and acquisitions.
