2 Enterprise Resource Planning Business Software This paper will analyze SAP’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) business applications and address the business functions that ERP’s business application supports, application information and analysis, and user knowledge assumptions. Finally, review of the computer hardware and software components needed to support ERP’s application and software benefits will be illustrated. Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP is a perfect title for a solution that integrates all the computing needs of a corporation into one package while supporting cooperation with suppliers, partners and customers. ERP streamlines information and operation processes providing a dynamic information flow and is an organization’s most important asset in technological advances (SAP Global, n.d.). Following is a diagram of the ERP component and its systematic flow throughout an organization (Wilson, 2002). Figure 1. ERP
