Using the Nadler –Tushman Congruence Model to make analysis my organizations output quickly made relate to what we use in the army with the eight step decision model that assist with army decision making. Just as with the Nadler-Tushman Congruence model the decision making process we use in the army always can be used to measure individual, group and organizational levels and can show the differences as well so that key decision can made in timely manner with minimum resources being lost. This allows for quick reevaluations of outputs and will save not limited resources but wasted manpower. With proper analysis for the output, this can be the difference of organizations making that change that will allow their product or service to change a market or take the lead from a competitor. With this case study in Module 4 I will identify the key outputs and justify why they are important our organizations output. I will then evaluate the meat of why the congruence model is so special with the fit between the outputs, and how some of the outputs are affected by certain pair of fit factors. With these factors fitting together or not, I will explain why they do or don’t work for my organization. “The ultimate purpose of the enterprise is to produce output, the patterns of activities, behavior, and performance of the system must work together. The total system: the output measured in terms of goods and services produced revenues, profits, shareholder return, job creation, community impact, and policy or service outcomes.”(Wayman, 1997) It is important that all understand that the strategy of having a successful output is why the organization has been created. “The Nadler and Tushman describe congruence, or fit, as “the degree to which the needs, demands, goals, objectives, and/or structures of one component are consistent with 2

the needs, demands, goals, objectives, and/or structures of another component”. The tighter as we know a unit works or fits, the greater the congruence are higher the performance or services that will be available.Whatever product or services your organization provides will have a requirement for a specific skill set and knowledge level for its employees, management and all other stakeholders for it to be
