“Drill, Baby, Drill” -Sarah Palin Political issues are taken seriously in my household. I would not call myself an environmentalist, but I do not take the subject lightly. As many Americans, I desire to purse green energy sources while limiting America’s reliance on foreign oil. As a mother of three, I want my children to grow up in a safe environment with blue skies and clean drinking water. However, Barack Obama also expects the citizens of the United States to fund the pursuit of these new technologies, which will be very expensive. Obama has added more to the national debt in his first 19 months in office than all presidents from Washington through Reagan Combined (Jeffrey, 2010). I believe that his true agenda in pushing renewable resources does not have much to do with benefiting the environment. On the 26 th of June 2009, the house past the Carbon Cap-and-Trade Bill. One of the largest tax increase to be imposed on the American people in history was passed during a recession. While the world was too busy talking about the death of Michael Jackson,
