According to the text book “Accounting Information System” by James A. Hall an accounting information system is defined as, “Specialized subset of information systems that processes financial transactions.” (In other words a system that can perform financial transaction). (b) List and discuss the four parts of a generic accounting information system According to the text book, “Accounting Information System” by James A. Hall there four parts of a generic accounting information system are ; (1) The Transaction Processing System, (2) The General Ledger/ Financial Reporting System, (3) The Management Reporting System, and (4) The Management Information System The Transaction Processing System: (TPS) as defined in the text is, “Supports daily business operations with numerous reports, documents, and messages for users throughout the organizations.” The General Ledger/ Financial Reporting System : (GL/FRS) as defined in the text is
