Quantitative Business Analysis 311 Case-1 Kites August 28, 2011 Case 1: Art Kites Bob Windward is a hobbyist who makes artistic kites; he is very creative and has won several contests for the most beautiful kite. While winning a contest gives Bob some cash rewards, these prizes are at most a couple of hundred dollars, usually less than $500. Bob is a student at USDC and wants to make some money for next semester. He thinks he will need about $10,000 to cover expenses not covered by grants and scholarships. He is thinking about putting his talent, kite design, to work. In particular, he is considering setting up shop in Dewey Beach, Delaware, to sell kites during the coming summer. He can either rent a kiosk on the boardwalk or a shop on the main road through town.
