Jollibee: Beating McDonald’s In Burgers Questions 1. Why do you think McDonalds has not been more successful against Jollibee in the Philippines ? Why I think that McDonalds has not been more successful against Jollibee in the Philippines is for many reasons. To begin being in a very competitive environment it is important that a business must meet the consumer’s demands, wants, interests, and taste. There must be a relationship between the business and what is being sold and the consumer. This builds a competitive advantage. A competitive advantage is exactly what Jollibee has against McDonalds in the Philippines. Jollibee as stated in the cast, “Offers spicy burgers, friend chicken, and spaghetti, and serves rice with all entrees. The food is similar to what a Filipino mother would cook at home.” Due to the fact that Jollibee attracts the Filipinos from what they serve over
