What is a Biosphere bi∙o∙sphere [bahy-uh-sfeer]  the ecosystem comprising the entire earth and  the living organisms that inhabit it.  The most recent attempt of a Biosphere was a  science research facility owned by the University  of Arizona, “to serve as a center for research,  outreach, teaching and life-long learning about  Earth, its living systems, and its place in the  universe.” Which was constructed in 1987 and  was sold in 2005
