GEOL 1404 Historical Geology Lab Spring 2008 Fossils I – The Paleozoic Era Please answer the following questions on a separate piece of paper. When using the fossils from our collection, please be sure to return fossils to where you got them. Keep them with their labeled boxes! Overview 1) Using the geologic ranges given in your lab manual for the different invertebrate groups, summarize which groups are of particular importance during the Paleozoic Era. Phylum Arthropoda (“jointed foot”) Subphylum Trilobitomorpha Class Trilobita 1) Draw a trilobite from the collection (not from an illustration in your book or the lab manual) and LABEL all of its main body parts.
