P12-1. Design a basic start/stop circuit for a three-phase induction motor. The motor shall start when the start pushbutton is pressed, and the motor shall stop when the stop pushbutton is pressed. Be sure to include overload protection for the motor. P12-2. Modify your circuit in problem 12-1 to include two pilot lights as follows: (a) A green light shall turn on whenever control power is on. (b) A red light shall turn on whenever the motor is running. P12-3. Design a ladder diagram with two stop pushbuttons and two start pushbuttons for the control of two three-phase induction motors. The motors must be started in sequence, motor-1 and then motor-2. Motor-2 cannot be started unless motor-1 is running. 12-4. Add an emergency stop pushbutton to the circuit in problem 12-3.

Unformatted text preview: Pressing the emergency stop pushbutton will stop both motors. The circuit shown in figure for problem 12-3 will accomplish this. Pressing the stop button in rung 1 will shut down both motors. P12-5. Add pilot lights with different colors to the circuit in problem 12-4 to indicate when each motor is running. P12-6. Design a ladder diagram that will control the operation of three three-phase induction motors. The motors must be started in sequence with a 10 second time delay between the starting of each motor. Include pilot lights to indicate when each motor is running. All motors must be stopped from one location and at the same time....
