BECOME A CPA For most of accounting students, being a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is their goal to achieve. Having a CPA certification, they will be able to apply for more jobs as well as further their study/business. The website aicpe.org (American Institute of CPAs) has a nice tutorial that guides us through all necessary steps of becoming a CPA: (a) getting started, (b) Scholarships, (c) Licensure, and (d) FAQs Getting Started This section was included in a power point named “Steps to becoming a CPA”. It explains that CPA is “a trusted financial advisor who helps individuals, businesses, and other organizations plan and reach their goal.” It also confirms that all CPAs are accountants, but not all accountants are CPAs. The rest of the power point is covered in the later part of the tutorial. Scholarships AICPA guides students to establish their firm foundation not for only CPA but for any job since they are in high school. Since the freshman year, students are recommended to pay a visit to their guidance counselor to make class schedules that help them be fully prepared for college
