REQUEST MEMO ACTIVITY As division sales manager of DataCom Electronics, you must send a memo to all sales reps about reducing the mileage they put on their company-provided automobiles. The company's gasoline bills have been skyrocketing. Sales reps use their company-provided automobiles to visit "hot" prospects. These visits are supposed to close deals or persuade hard-sells. However, the vice president of sales thinks that some sales reps have abused their automobile privileges; he wants to reduce these visits sharply or eliminate them entirely. You convince him to hold off until you can collect more information. You have decided to experiment with a new log procedure for the month of March. Your plan is to ask all sales reps to keep a log (a record) of all visits, including the date, time, city, and reason for the visit. You will enclose a copy of the log with your memo.
