I have learned a lot about my race and the various cultures that surround me in America. I have never shied away from other cultures because I have always been around different races of people living in New York City. However the opportunity to get know about their culture in an academic setting helps to rid the mind of the stereotypes and the misdirection that could be formed form speaking to some you may know. One of the most interesting things I have come to realize during this class is that immigrates who have come to America have dealt with some type of hardship and struggle to gain their place in the country. With a biracial President seeking a second term to lead the free world I am confident that this is the first of many changes to come in the next 50 years. The numbers have Hispanic as one of the fastest growing in the country and I believe that over time there will be a balance of power, giving everyone an equal voice and the politics that run this country. The days of the old American politics will have to change in order to put an end to the widespread protest on the government....
