Problem #1 + - Battery Voltage = 12.5 Volts 5 Ohms Resistor Think carefully about which direction corresponds to positive current. Using Ohm’s law, write an equation that can be used to calculate i1. Solve the equation for the current i1 From Ohm’s law, the voltage across the resistor, from left to right , is given by Vlr = i1 x 5 Ohms. The + side of the battery is attached to the left side of the resistor, and the - side of the battery is attached to the right side of the resistor.
