One of the most important medical staff at any hospital in the nation is the doctors or physicians. These people are some of the most educated people in the entire system of healthcare, and some of the hardest working. Depending on the type of doctor you are working with, their hours vary from fifty to eighty or more in one work week. Some doctors work twenty four hour shifts on weekends or holidays, sleeping in offices overnight to be available for emergencies yet to happen. Doctors are educated for a minimum of five years and must go to school to be specialized for another two to ten years, depending on the specialty they work towards. They endure rigorous training, internships, residencies, fellowships, and doctorate clinical for many years, striving to become one of the best in their profession. Many doctors spend more time at the hospitals they are working for than at home with their own families. Doctors do all of these things so that they can cure ailments, make people's quality of life better, and save people's lives. To me, that is one of the most important jobs that someone can choose to do.
