Course Description This taxation course is an introduction to fundamental personal income tax principles and practices. It provides students with an overall understanding of taxation concepts and principles and introduces the institutional environment related to tax regulation. Second, it discusses the basics of tax planning for individuals and corporations. Finally, the course also explains the Egyptian tax regulations (Law no. 91 for the year 2005) related to computation of individual tax liability. Through discussing the tax rules, the course also aims at providing students with an understanding of the role of taxation in investment and business decision making. In addition some advanced taxation topics are incorporated in the course in order to deepen the understanding the tax
