Step 1: Decreased hemoglobin anemia. Step 2: MCV = 27% x 10 = 121.6 macrocytosis. 2.22 Step 3: MCHC = 8.5 x 100 = 31.5 normochromic. 27 Step 4: RDW increased aniocytosis Step 5: The patient is anemic but the morphology report does not include polychromasia. Using the report, I calculated the corrected reticulocyte count getting 1.08%, but in order for it to compensate anemia it must be at least 3% normal. Therefore, this patients CRC is inadequate to compensate for the anemia.
