To circle back and reflect on the things we have discussed in the course and how it will apply to my career plan and the changing world, I think one of the most important things we have talked about is how to cope with change. In my industry as I’m sure in many of yours there is a “sink or swim” mentality. People (supervisors) are too busy in meeting to bother with training and development, so it falls on the employee to become successful. This is definitely a change I have had to overcome. When I first started working, I was trained on every task I would have to complete, now I am lucky if my supervisor has even done the job I am doing, much less know

I think this has actually been a very good experience even thought it has been extremely frustrating. I have learned that I am the only one who has control over my professional career and that I am going to have to work harder to become successful. I am up for the challenge and I strive to learn more by taking extra classes and seminars at work to better myself professionally. This is my basic approach on how to handle the changing world and still “swim” into my next career path....
