Quality Function Deployment can be defined as a comprehensive quality design that collects information and develops the plan for a product. The following are the steps that should be taken to perform a Quality Function Deployment: 1. Develop product requirements based on customer needs 2. Develop a product concept that will meet these needs 3. Analyze the product concepts and select the best option 4. Develop an assembly plan 5. Determine the process steps to meet assembly requirements 6. Set up quality control to assure the goals continue to be met by the process In terms of problem solving QFD can be used to focus on the area that is causing the issues. The first step would be to identify the most vital functions of a product in the design phase.
