As Earl mentioned, there are five areas mentioned in our text that affect our buying habits. I can absolutely agree that these are the factors that affect my decisions as a consumer. 1. Marketing Stimuli- It may be a controversial subject for some, but I am a Wal-Mart shopper for the simple facts that their prices are very competitive and they have extremely convenient locations. It doesn’t matter if I am at work, home, or even traveling it is likely that there will be a Wal-Mart incredibly close. There are other areas where I bargain shop, for example clothing. I would rather have more clothes for the same price as I would pay for brand names. I prefer to have quantity over quality when it comes to clothes shopping. 2. Other Stimuli – I really do not think that politics affect my buying decisions, but technology does. I like the flexibility and convenience that technology offers and I have learned that it helps to keep up with the “times,” so that ends up being a deciding factor in what products I choose.
