2 Marketing Plan (1) The marketing plan is a written document identifying a specific goal and outlining a course of action to achieve this goal. The focus of marketing plan New-offering plans focus on evaluating the environment in which the company operates to (1) uncover opportunities and threats, and (2) develop a course of action that takes advantage of an identified opportunity and/or mitigate the impact of an impending threat. Existing –offering plans focus on evaluating the company ’s progress toward its goal and monitoring changes in its operating environment to determine the variability of its current actions, and revise goal or actions. A marketing plan sample and suggested template will be uploaded on blackboard later this week.
