Lecture: September 20, 2011 Uprising that expresses peoples disatisfaction toward their local population Korean minister in 1960s, when we got close to his two terms as president, he deicded that he wanted to stay in power so he passed a constitutional amendement that would allow him to serve a third term State of emergence – marshall law – dissolve national assembly – new consititution – to give him total power to do whatever he wanted to do 1970s – vocal appoinents to his power 1978 – arranged for his election once again – locals upset demonstrations started in 1979 eventually kung poe hi is assignated by CIA People thought that this would lead South Korea to a democratic Miltary person did a military coo and took power 1980 – providence that had lagged behind other providences in export society (high degree of dissatisfaction Video group of army officers shoot their way to the top riot controll exercises – clubs and bianetts
