Tae Min Pak AMST 301 Professor Gustafson 4/13/11 Wednesday 4/13 Commentary Through the excerpt from Inventing the Dream by Kevin Starr, I was able to better understand the development and meaning behind Hollywood. Hollywood was always seen as the ‘land of dreams’ where anything an American wished for would be granted to him or her, but history has shown it to be a place where very few dreams are met. However it is interesting to note that Hollywood after all these years, still maintains the image of glamour and grandeur as it had for the past century. “This myth, in turn, as a matter of dream, wish, and behavior, affects the way Americans in other parts of the country view themselves and arrange their lives.” This is my
