Journal 10 Pregnancy is a serious matter in the life of women. Many physical, biological, and emotional changes occur during pregnancy that can be difficult for many women to deal with. Many women look forward to the day they have a child of their own, but the process involved is no cakewalk. Men take for granted the hardships—not only physically, but also emotionally—that are involved in pregnancy because they only deal with the anticipation of the psychological experience. These hardships are rarely expressed accurately in the media. Most commercials only deal with the pregnancy tests and, for the most part, assume that every woman is excited and ready to have a baby. Many women are not enthusiastic about the side effects, including weight gain, fatigue, and nausea. Social reactions to pregnant women are varied depending on the situation. For example, pregnant women looking for jobs tend to face negative reactions, while pregnant women shopping for baby clothes are met with exuberance. It can be an overwhelming
