Programming I A “real” programming course A passing grade “C-” or better indicates that the student is capable of writing (from scratch) programs in C/C++ to solve rudimentary computational problems. Time Consuming Course 7 projects 3 tests No extra credit Class attendance is not only required it is absolutely essential in order to do well in the class New material is presented each class and cannot be made up or skipped. Attendance in recitation sections will be taken and practice given in writing code and solving problems

COP3014 Course Description COP 3014. Programming I Prerequisite: MAC 1140. Fundamental concepts and skills of programming in a high-level language C++. Flow of control: sequence, selection, iteration, subprograms. Data structures: arrays, strings, structs, ADT lists and tables. Algorithms using selection and iteration (decision making, finding maxima and minima, basic searching and sorting, simulation, etc.). Good program design using a procedural paradigm, structure and style are emphasized. Interactive and file IO. Testing and debugging techniques. Intended primarily for science or engineering majors, or anyone who is required to take COP 3330. Satisfies the FSU computer skills competency requirement.
