EGR 100 Introduction to Engineering Design Fall 2011 Lecture 02 Homework Background: The National Academy of Engineering has developed a listing of 14 Grand Challenges for Engineering in the 21 st Century. Those challenges include topics ranging from preventing nuclear terror to engineering better medicines. Objective: To connect students to faculty in their desired disciplines and relate the Grand Challenges to those disciplines. Begin to learn and practice technical writing. Part 1: Register for the Engineering Connect evening session corresponding to the engineering discipline you plan to pursue by completing the Engineering Connect Survey found in the Lecture Homework Assignments folder under the Lessons tab in Angel. You must sign up for at least one session. You should select your preferred discipline’s time and location. But, if you have a scheduling conflict, please select an alternative presentation. You must complete the survey by Thursday, September 15, at 5:00pm. Part 2:
