LAB 00. Introductory Lab-Procedures-Notes-HelpExperiment 1: Get to Know the Lab1.On the lab wall, you will see three shelves: Containers shelf, Materials shelf,and Instruments shelf. There are sideways arrows that appear in many labs on either side of the shelves. Click the arrows to view all contents of the shelf.2.Click and drag the 150 mL Erlenmeyer flask to the workbench below. When it is in position, release it onto the workbench.3.Locate the 6 M hydrochloric acid (HCl). Use the arrows on the Materials shelf to access additional materials. When you highlight a container, a tool tip will appear with the name of the material. 4.Add 50 mL of 6 M hydrochloric acid (HCl) from the Materials shelf to the Erlenmeyer flask by dragging the brown 6 M HCl bottle from the shelf to the flask. Let go of the 6 M HCl bottle. In the pop-up window that appears, type 50 into the white box and clickAdd. You will see a clear liquid appear at thebottom of the flask.5.When two containers, or a container and an instrument interact, they will snap into place if the objects are close enough.6.Some instruments can be placed into containers. Take a thermometer from the Instruments shelf and attach it to the Erlenmeyer flask by dragging it onto the Erlenmeyer flask and letting go of the mouse button. Record the temperature of the HCl in the flask in order to use it later in your post-lab assignment.
