Ruling of different Civilizations o Mesopotamians/ Assyrians (very similar) Very strict law (first standardization of law) Used the Code of Hammurabi Class and gender distinctions Very rigid social class and if you were in it you could not get out Empire ruled by organizing forces into a unit lead by trained leaders Had patriarchal society Camaraderie played a big role in both civilizations Assyrians were not popular with the people Very spread out which made it hard to control their people Had a very mean powerful army and force very strict laws for small crimes Emphasized the fact that people were different o Egyptians Ruler was a demigod Used religion as a source of power Had patriarchal society They had a few women rulers Big division of classes from the top to the bottom Pharaoh Priest Middle class Slaves/ peasants o Persian empire was the most successful because they controlled it in a very organized forma and has many similarities to the US with the district/
