Assignment 3: Disciplinary Literacies Requirements: Different academic disciplines have different ways of analyzing information , different ways of building knowledge , and different ways of presenting knowledge in written forms. This paper gives you the opportunity to begin learning about how writing, reading, and researching operate within a discipline of interest to you. You may choose any discipline you wish to examine for this project. Whichever you choose, you must engage in at least the following activities: Rhetorical analysis of at least one scholarly article from that discipline Rhetorical analysis of at least one article from a trade publication related to that discipline Rhetorical analysis of at least one piece of everyday writing related to the discipline (optional) Conduct an interview with a person who teaches major courses in that discipline Conduct a different interview with a different person who teachers major courses and/or does research in that discipline. * Interviews should be recorded.
