I am asking these questions solely to formulatea argument against the topic list below. “The topic is In the United States; we do not need to plan for retirement. Social Security will cover our needs when we are retired.” I have chosen to disagree and your input will be valuable to help me prove my case. Answer them the best way you can 1. What age do you plan on retiring? Or what age did you retire? ****NOT SURE I WANT TO RETIRE : WOULD LIKE TO STAY ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN OUTSIDE INTERESTS THROUGHOUT MY LIFE. IF THE QUESTION IS : CAN YOU RETIRE SOLELY ON SOCIAL SECURITY THEN NO, WOULD NEVER PLAN ON THIS. EVEN PEOPLE NOW TRYING TO GET BY ON SS ARE FINDING THEY NEED ADDITIONAL SOURCES OF INCOME. 2. Are you a home owner? Will your house be paid off by time you retire? ***YES, AM A HOMEOWNER AND NO, THE HOUSE WILL NOT BE PAID OFF. IDEALLY IT WOULD BE HOWEVER WITH INTEREST RATES SO LOW AT PRESENT AM FINDING IT IS A TERRIBLE DRAIN ON SAVINGS TO PAY MONTHLY MORTGAGE PAYMENTS. 3.
