Method Participants The subject pool was 31 University of Kentucky undergraduate students taking PSY 215, drawn directly from section 005, which the students registered to take before the semester began. Of the 31 participants, 16 were assigned the “self-focused” condition and 15 the “affirming” conditions. All assignments were issued randomly.
