How/why does Césaire refer to Hitler in his argument? What types of writers does he refer to in his critique? Cesaire’s Discourse on Colonialism is primarily a critique of the foremost excuse used to justify Colonialism by Europe. The direction behind colonialism was supposedly civilization and humanism of the “savage”, however Cesaire highlights how colonialism in fact led to a further disintegration of humanity.
