Summery -Kamala’s burial after cremation on the same hill Vasudeva's wife was buried. -Siddhartha loves his boy want him to live with him in the hut next to the river -boy does not adjust very well to these new living conditions; he was pampered (by mom) -boy not happy, Vasudeva tries to make Siddhartha see so too, says that the river say Siddhartha’s emotions blind him -Siddhartha believes the boy will eventually also hear the voice & wisdom of the river - The ferryman reasons that Siddhartha should try to discipline his son, but he refuses because he wanted persuasion through love & patience only.

father; wants guidance, strictness. -runs away with money and boat back to civilization. -Siddhartha is heartbroken but tries to follow son even if not wanted. -leaves Vasudeva at the river to wander off into the forest towards Samsara -find’s Kamala’s grove filled with monks, remembers entire life , leaving, finding, sadness love etc. -Let’s the boy go.
