We must understand the shopping behavior, consumption, consumer attitudes and how gas price influence consumers and how consumers respond to them. What is impact on consumer shopping behavior and what can consumer do? What is the effect of gasoline price on overall shopping and other things? As we all know, the gasoline price has a dramatically increase in these years. Government can control the gasoline price and wants to reduce the gasoline use. So they have some policy. It is increasing the gasoline taxes, standards for the average fuel economy of vehicles and programs of cap-and- trade. The research shows the benefits and cost of this three ways and find increasing gasoline taxes might be the most effective way to influence demand. A higher gasoline tax would influence fuel demand in the short term and also encourage households to replace the stock of vehicles with more efficient ones in the longer run.
