Welcome to CCH
I joined CCH Australia in 1996 as a Legal Writer, contributing to our
conveyancing and company law services*. The publishing industry in 1996,
or at least the technology underlying it, was in many respects not that
different to the publishing industry in 1896, or indeed 1496. Handwritten
amendments to loose-leaf pages, typesetting, galleys, composition,
moveable type and so on.
Things have changed – and not just in publishing! The internet, email,
ow software, smartphones, tablets, Google, Facebook: technology
has changed dramatically not just the way we produce and consume
information, but how we interact with each other and conduct business. It’s
a different business world, with many new challenges and opportunities, all
moving at a breakneck speed.
What hasn’t changed is the importance of knowing and understanding the
current state of the law. We live in a fast changing regulatory environment
where the cost of non-compliance gets higher every day. And in at least that
one respect CCH hasn’t changed either – our job is to keep you up to date
and informed about the law and we pride ourselves on having done that for
more than forty years here in Australia.
While we still love our books and loose-leaf reporters, the majority of our
customers now access our content via our market-leading IntelliConnect™
platform. 2010 saw some exciting new developments, including Tracker
news, Roadmaps, and AustLII integration, and there is much more to come
in 2011, including more electronic tools and a range of e-books.
Thank you for taking the time to review this catalogue. I’m sure it contains
products that will help you and your clients be more effi
cient and effective
in this challenging regulatory environment.
If you have any questions or comments for me, please get in touch at
email@example.com. I’d love to hear from you.
All the best for 2011. I wish you every success.
