Gender Debate over the Schooling System Remember that Patriarchy is a system. But this system relies on concrete institutions as well as on individuals to cultivate and sustain it. Remember that Knowledge is power, but it relies on discourse, statistics and expertise but more importantly on the way questions are framed , formulated and posed.

The Education System is set in a Way to Accommodate Girls! According to statistics and data, girls perform better in schools, have less problems to adapt to the schooling system and are more likely to reach college than boys But we have already seen that numbers are not value free and that they are based on the researcher's agenda and the way the question is framed. Our research interests are shaped by our class, gender, cultural and ideological backgrounds. Our results are also influenced by the way we interpret the data.

Numbers in the Public debate According to Kimmel the debate over boys’ poor performances in school is biased. It emphasizes discrimination against boys by stressing the fragile and vulnerable position of boys in classrooms found to be more accommodating to girls .

What about the Boys or rather be Careful of Feminism? Kimmel argues that -The debate: “how about boys” is a debate to counter the feminist movement rather than to help boys perform better.

It is a debate Encouraging men to recover part of what is supposed to be the losses encountered by them in a “feminized” society and educational system. For Kimmel it is patriarchy and masculinity that should be explore as sources of boys problems in school
