NEA and Social Involvement in Education The professional organization that I am writing about is the NEA, which is the National Education Association. I chose this organization because I am a mother and I believe in working with my children and with the community to make sure that can obtain the most out of what the school and the community has to offer. The National Education Association is an organization that originally started in 1857. The NEA believes that every student, no matter where they live or the income of their families, they deserve a quality education. They believe that students should have the opportunity to develop to their fullest potential. The NEA calls on Congress and the Administration to support programs to increase the involvement of the parents through proactive outreach efforts. There needs to be an improvement in reaching out to low income, minority, and recent immigrant families by the schools.
