Module 2 Case During the course of this paper I will describe and identify at least three characteristics that take apart Rockwell Automation’s Marion plant as a top manufacturing operation and what they do superior or special than others to achieve “can do” reputation. In addition, based on the Power Lean web site I will use the best approach of process designing. Lastly, I will point out their new contribution as opposed to what is packaged in graduate level operations courses. In this business, customer satisfaction is a key factor of any company success. Marion plant has a unique and an exceptional delivery system in place that allows customers to receive their orders within 24 hours from the initial call. The attribute is based on the quality of the product. The statistics shows that quality assurance (QA) is 99% for all finished products. This particular characteristic allows speeding the delivery process in this company. For example, if the final product passes for the first time the audit/quality assurance stage, then, delivery of the product and fulfillment of the customer’s requirements or demands is accomplished. Having the reputation of fast product delivery and the quality of their products at the same time it’s what gives Marion plant an advantage over his competitors. This is a very hard process to establish and maintaining with such a good percentage of excellence.

We have taken in consideration that if the product fails the Quality Assurance stage, then, the product has to go into the hold stage until it gets fixed. This is a time consuming process in which the results can affect the delivery timeline. Taking also in consideration that revenue is a dictator factor and it will drop if the result of “first time go” is not obtained. This is a good
