Module 4 Case For this paper, I was assigned to read the article, “Manufactures like us” by David Drickhamer. After reading this article, I will discuss how China has been able to improve their quality of manufacturing as a whole and the different types of inputs that will lead to a higher quality production. In addition, I will provide my personal recommendation to the U.S. manufactures on how to improve. Chinese manufacturers are using the best approaches to obtain the best results in the market. These approaches are” high quality” and “service support”. As the Total Quality Management stated in module four-background information, costumers are the ones who can identify the quality of the product. As managers and manufacturers we need to have a clear understanding that the consumption or use of our product would dictate the quality. The service support is another great technique used by the Chinese manufacturers. The quality is also defined in terms of product or service usefulness for the price they paid. In the same manner customers expect from manufacturers to get the appropriate support after the product is purchased. This is another way that quality is defined in the market. I stated earlier, the costumer defines the meaning of quality.
